In Bloom Trauma Focused Therapy

Turning Poison Into Medicine

While trauma can be incredibly painful and destructive, it also presents an opportunity for growth and healing. Having the willingness to explore the past with compassion and courage, can gradually transform pain into wisdom, resilience, and strength. While we cannot change the past, we can stop its grip on our present.

About

"The past is never dead. It's not even past"-William Faulkner

Hi! I am a trauma-focused therapist because I believe that untreated trauma is the root or cause of most symptoms that clients seek therapy for. Trauma may have contributed to who you are but it doesn't have to be your identity anymore. I collaborate with clients to explore the underlying patterns in their lives that contribute to their distress and keep them stuck or hinder their progress in life. Common causes of distress client's present with are unhealthy relationships, addictive or self-harming behaviors, consistent anxiety and depression, low self-esteem, or challenges meeting life goals among many others. Identifying when these behaviors started and the underlying belief systems related to them is how we work to resolve them. My primary therapeutic approach involves utilizing Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy, renowned for its efficacy in identifying and addressing past traumas that significantly impact present-day distress. EMDR, an empirically validated psychotherapeutic technique, aims to mitigate the adverse effects of trauma by reducing negative emotions, anxiety, and associated reactions. I am trained to use specialized protocols in EMDR such as Attachment Informed EMDR and Pre-Verbal Trauma Informed EMDR, as I have learned unresolved attachment trauma is at the root of many symptoms that clients present with. Additionally, I am informed in a range of other therapeutic modalities, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, and Internal Family Systems. Your presence in this space marks the pivotal first step toward experiencing a profound sense of improvement.. The healing process begins with the decision to seek outside help, which takes courage and vulnerability. I look forward to working with you to create the best possible version of yourself. Fee schedule is listed below, but may be adjusted on a case-by-case basis to meet your financial needs. Providing access to quality care is my number one priority.
